SIZE GUIDE
Baby 0-5 months
We do not recommend the use of weighted products for babies under 6 months. This applies to weighted blankets, weighted sleeping bags, weighted cuddly toys and so on, regardless of the baby's weight and size.
We have taken this position on the basis of the Danish Sikkerhedsstyrelsen's 2023 investigation of weighted blankets and, in this connection, the recommendation from the Retspatologisk Afdeling ved Københavns Universitet, Retsmedicinsk Institut, which writes: “The use of a weighted blanket for children under 6 months will increase the risk that the weight of the weighted blanket may make it difficult for a healthy baby to breathe”.
Baby from 6 months
If your baby is between 6 and 12 months old, we always recommend our baby weighted blanket. See it here
The baby weighted blanket is a suitable size for use in a pram and in your arms, and is easy to handle when baby is moved from one place to another.
The baby size also has a weight that the child is able to kick off. Most customers see a good effect from the baby size right up to the age of 18-24 months.
Toddler 1-5 years
Our Junior weighted blanket of 3.5 kilos is suitable for this age group. See it here
Children at this age – especially children between 1 and 3 years – often sleep very restlessly, which makes it necessary to have a blanket of a certain size so that it does not fall off too quickly.
The weighted blanket has, however, been shown to calm physical restlessness and promote deeper and calmer sleep, and as a result our customers find that the child's tendency to, for example, kick the blanket off becomes less.
The Junior size should NOT be used for children under 12 months.
Teenagers 13-19 years
For teenagers we offer a selection of blankets in different sizes and weights.
You can choose between blankets in sizes 140 x 200 cm or 140 x 220 cm, depending on your child's height. We also recommend choosing a blanket that corresponds to approximately 10% of your child's body weight for optimal comfort.
Adults
For adults we offer a selection of blankets in different sizes and weights. You can choose between blankets in sizes 140 x 200 cm see it here, or 140 x 220 cm see it here, depending on your height. We also recommend choosing a blanket that corresponds to approximately 10-15% of your body weight for optimal comfort and effect.
MADE WITH CARE
We take great pride in crafting our products with care—not just for the little ones in the family, but also for the talented seamstresses who turn fabric into something truly special.
In our production, we’ve chosen to say 'no' to mass production and 'yes' to craftsmanship, job satisfaction, and professional pride. That’s why every textile product is made by skilled women at a little Danish-owned workshop in Hanoi, where fair wages and working conditions are a given, and where open communication and strong collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.
We firmly believe that this positive energy shines through in the final product. We call it good work spirit—and good karma.

"No thanks" to polyester
At LALATOTO, we’ve made a deliberate choice to say no to polyester – and yes to nature. Instead of synthetic fibers, we work exclusively with natural materials like kapok.
It’s a choice that makes both development and production more complex and time-consuming. And yes, natural materials often come with a higher price tag. But for us, it’s an easy decision. Because this is about protecting your family – and the planet we all share.
Polyester is a synthetic fiber made from plastic through a chemical process. It’s not breathable and can shed microplastics into the environment. Kapok, by contrast, is 100% natural, organic, and sustainable. It’s hypoallergenic, breathable, and temperature-regulating – offering a healthier sleep environment, free from unnecessary chemicals and microplastics.
By choosing what nature has already perfected, we create products that are kind to both people and planet – without compromising on quality or performance. At the end of the day, it’s about making products we can stand behind – and that you can feel completely safe using, whether it’s for yourself or your little one.
THE WEIGHTED BLANKET 2.0
Our weighted blanket is the result of many years of work and geeking out over weighted products for children and sleep. We are incredibly proud of the Weighted Blanket 2.0, which is the natural alternative to all the polyester-filled weighted blankets that now dominate the market.
The blanket combines the calming, sleep-promoting effect of weight with the cosy, snuggly effect of kapok. Together, you get a blanket that promotes deep sleep, regulates temperature and contributes to a healthy sleeping environment without dust mites
and damp.
This weighted blanket is a loving invitation to take a sharp look at – and make demands of – the products that make up your child's and your own
sleeping environment.
You can find our selection of weighted blankets here.
Sleep well.

Exceeded all my expectations.
The experience of shopping at lalatoto (formerly Hush little one) truly exceeds all my expectations. I hardly dare say it out loud, but my daughter has gone from very restless sleep with many awakenings to sleeping long stretches of up to seven hours with the duvet and nest already from 6 months.
In addition, I honestly don't think I've ever experienced such warm, personal and at the same time professional customer service before. Impressively fast delivery and pleasant and competent sparring.
Finally, it should be mentioned that Lalatoto has a strong focus on social sustainability, which is reflected in the quality of the product and the production conditions - so in addition to supporting a Danish entrepreneurial company, you can also have a good feeling about the production. In other words, I can't recommend lalatoto enough!

Delicious products and good service
Delicious products (although we are waiting a bit for the effect of the weighted blanket :D), nice webshop, but most importantly: really good service and fast shipping. I sought advice regarding something technical before I ordered and I got a very thorough answer, also with reference to the Danish authorities' recommendations in the area. When I received the order, there was a nice little personal greeting with the wish for good sleep. Definitely recommendable! The products are not the cheapest, BUT definitely worth the money, as other manufacturers do not have the same quality (keep an eye out for all the good discount codes that are currently available;) )

The bed snake was my savior when pregnant
As a pregnant woman, I was incredibly ill! I was recommended a “pregnancy sausage”.
A message to Sara, who answered my questions in the most welcoming and warm way. I bought the bed hose. Which from day one saved my sleep, pain and the like at night. It has a bit of weight in it, so it is a bit heavy and therefore stays put. You can't just push it out of bed, and it has a thickness that means it doesn't "just" clop between your legs. It was seriously worth its weight! And I would recommend it to all pregnant women😍
Now our daughter has taken it over as it makes her bed smaller and safer. Thank you!

You probably know Sara & Nicolaj from Lalatoto from Hush little One who was in the lion's den.
Same great products just under a new name! The weighted blanket has made a huge difference to our boy since he was 6 months old in terms of motor restlessness and as soon as their bed skirt came into stock I had to have it too. It doesn't disappoint in any way. I love that it has fabric that can go under the mattress, so the sleeping environment is completely safe and secure. This won't be the last time I shop at Lalatoto!

Fantastic product for baby's sleep
Our 4 month old son has only wanted to fall asleep so far
in motion in either a swing or a stroller. We have tried everything, but chose
to give your weighted blanket a try and he has now fallen easily for the first time and
quickly asleep in his BED. Thank you so much for a great product 🧡

The idea behind it all...
..our baby-friendly weighted blanket came to me one winter night in 2018, as I sat with our little son in my arms, facing another long night of many wake-ups. The weighted blanket became our salvation, and now I take comfort in the fact that our hardest year also became the year we created something that has helped thousands of families with children in the same unhappy situation we were in. My greatest wish is that the weighted blanket can become a help to you too".
— Sara, founder of LALATOTO (but most of all, proud boy mum to Xander and Oskar)
Temperature matters
Most young children tend to get warm while they sleep. They might wake up with damp hair or even refuse to sleep with a duvet at all. Being too warm is an often-overlooked cause of restlessness during sleep.
That’s why we’re especially fond of kapok – it’s incredibly effective at regulating
temperature, helping your little one stay comfortably asleep through the night.
From our family to yours
We know just how much sleep – and the lack of it – takes up space in those first years with little ones. We’ve been there ourselves. In that hazy phase of early parenthood where just getting through the day feels like a victory.
That’s why our desire to help families sleep better comes straight from the heart.
From our family to yours, we truly hope that our products can make your nights a little easier – and your days a little brighter.
A Nordic alternative to the sleeping bag
Our weighted blanket is inspired by the Nordic tradition of using duvets from the earliest age. It combines the natural softness of organic kapok with the calming effect of gentle weight – creating a sense of security without restricting movement.
For many families, it’s a beautiful next step when a sleeping bag or swaddling no longer feels right – or a way to bring the simplicity and warmth of Scandinavian sleep culture into everyday life.
Frequently asked questions about weighted blankets for babies
We only recommend using a weighted blanket from 6 months and at a minimum body weight of 5 kg.
Yes, when used correctly. The weighted blanket has been developed with a focus on breathability, the correct weight and quiet materials.
The baby size 70 × 100 cm and 2 kg is developed specifically for babies between 6 and 12 months.
All of our weighted blankets are produced in Oeko-tex certified cotton, which ensures that the textile is free of substances harmful to health.
The duvet's filling consists of kapok and glass beads. We have carefully selected Kapok as a filling material for its sleep- and health-promoting properties:
- Kapok is hypoallergenic as dust mites cannot live in it.
- Kapok does not absorb moisture, but instead conducts sweat away from the body and into the room.
- Kapok is ideal for sleeping environments, as neither bacteria, mold nor pesticides can live in Kapok.
- When you choose products with Kapok instead of polyester, you protect both people and the environment from microplastics.
Our weighted blanket neither rattles, crackles nor makes noise. It was important for us to develop an almost silent blanket, as especially sensitive babies and toddlers aged 1-3 are easily disturbed and insecure by extraneous noises.
The LALATOTO weighted duvet is therefore no more noisy than a regular down duvet, and therefore does not disturb either you or your sleeping child.
