DESCRIPTION

The LALA whale is not just another soft toy.

She is made from 100% natural materials, filled with pure wool and covered in cotton. No polyester. No synthetic filling. A conscious break with industry standards.

Her big, soft shape makes her lovely to hold, snuggle up to and take to bed. The wool filling gives a natural weight, while the large version comes with a separate weight element, which makes it possible to use LALA as a proper weighted teddy.

A teddy is often one of the things that comes closest to a child. It is hugged, slept with and dragged along through the day.

That is why, in our view, it makes no sense to fill it with polyester.

PRODUCED WITH CARE

Our
products are sewn with the greatest possible care for the smallest members of the family, but also for
the seamstress who has turned metres of fabric into this beautiful product.
We have said "no thanks" to factory production and "yes
please" to human, close collaboration. That is why the bed snake is sewn by
skilled women at a Danish-owned sewing workshop in Bulgaria, where fair pay and
working conditions are a matter of course, and where good dialogue and close collaboration
at every stage are highly valued.
We have no doubt that the good energy can be both seen and felt in the
finished product. We call it good work joy and good karma.

LONG LIFESPAN

Wool is a natural material that changes over time.
With use, the filling may therefore clump and lose some of its original fullness.

The whale is designed with a hidden zip opening, so you can easily reach the wool filling. For safety reasons, the zip has no pullers, so the child cannot open it themselves. Use a safety pin, paper clip or similar to open the zip instead.

The wool can be taken out and gently teased apart with your hands so that it becomes airy and full again. It is also possible to add extra wool over time if the whale needs a little more filling.

"No thanks" to polyester

At LALATOTO we have made a conscious choice to say no to polyester and instead use only natural materials such as kapok and wool.

This makes many processes in both the development and production phases more complicated and cumbersome, not to mention that the natural choice unfortunately is also usually more expensive. But for us it is a no-brainer all the same – it is about taking care of both your family and our environment.

Polyester is a synthetic material made from plastic through a chemical process. Polyester is not breathable and can also release microplastics into the surroundings. Kapok and wool, on the other hand, are 100 % natural and sustainable materials, grown without the use of chemicals, and they are allergy-friendly, breathable and temperature-regulating. This gives a healthier sleeping environment without the risk of unnecessary chemicals and microplastics.

By choosing nature's own materials, we make sure our products are gentle on both people and the environment – without compromising
on quality and function. In its simplicity, it is really just about putting products into the world that we are proud of, and that you can safely use for yourself or for the smallest members of the family.
